Student protesters tell police to join them in Paris demonstrations

Summary
As student-led protests in Paris came to a close on Tuesday, demonstrators chanted "join us, join us" to police officers, who took off their helmets to cheers of the crowd. "When police take off their helmets, it's a sign that things are getting calmer," said FRANCE 24 reporter Claire Paccalin. Broader demonstrations are set to take place across France on Saturday over the cost of living, as well as further student protests, with the two potentially merging into a substantial movement. "But many of the young people I have spoken to today say they will not participate on Saturday," Paccalin said.
